ビートルズはアメリカ進出を試みるも、大手レコード会社(Capitol)から相手にされず、初めの内は小さなレーベル(Vee Jay など)からやむ得ずリリース～弱小レーベルの為、全く宣伝もされず英国でヒットした曲たちは話題にもならず、リリースされたという実績だけを積み重ね、埋没されるという状況を生みつつありました。
そんな中、「抱きしめたい」の突然のブレイクで、以前にリリースされていた曲が一挙に引きずられようにヒット・チャートを駆け上ったわけです～しかも、『チャンス到来！』とばかりに、可能な限り、シングル盤をリリースした結果が、このような奇跡を生み出しんですね！
現在のようなネット社会では、他国で流行ってる音楽などリアルタイムで耳にする事が出来るため、このようにヒット曲が知られることなく“溜め置かれる”ことなど考えにくい為、二度とこのような状況は生まれないでしょう・・・
