アメリカ合衆国の俳優・歌手・司会者。1946年～1956年はジェリー・ルイスとのコメディ・チーム「底抜けコンビ」で知られ更に1958年以降はフランク・シナトラやサミー・デイヴィス・ジュニアたちと組んだエンターテイナー集団ラットパックのレギュラー。
主な代表曲に『誰かが誰かを愛してる』（Everybody Loves Somebody）、『ザッツ・アモーレ』（That’s Amore）、『イナモラータ』（Innamorata）、『ヴォラーレ』（Volare）、『思い出はかくのごとし』（Memories Are Made of This）、『キング・オブ・ザ・ロード』 (King of the Road、グラミー賞受賞曲）などのヒット曲がある。NBCのテレビ番組『ディーン・マーティン・ショー』（The Dean Martin Show、1965〜1974)及びen: The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast（1974〜1984）のホストとしても活躍。
